Follow Your Heart

c-1A few years ago, a powerful poem by Linda Ellis stopped me in my tracks. In part….

“For it matters not, how much we own,
the cars…the house…the cash.
What matters is how we live and love
and how we spend our dash”. (click the link to see the entire poem)

So what is our ‘dash’ you may ask? It’s the currency we spend between our birth – date and our death – date. In short… it’s our life.

This poem is just a little of why I’m under your nose right now.  I remember when what felt was a soul surge as I was outgrowing things… switching gears a notch, and stepping up to play a bigger game, I thought “Why do this now, I’m almost 45?” Then that quiet, but very familiar voice inside me said “You’re going to be 45 anyway”. It was then that I realized that age is not a meaningful number, it is a measurable one to show us where we are  – on our dash.

I hear a lot, “How will I know when (or even if) it’s time to let go of one thing and pursue another?”  I suggest… find a quiet place and consider each of the options. Then feel the energy connected to each one. Then –  notice –  the resistance. Is the wind against you or are you in the wake? That’s how you’ll know.

You’re either pulling it, or it’s pulling you.

Once I decided to take that first step out of my comfort zone into the pull of the wake the universe had my back and things fell together. There is never a perfect time. Just start!

So, how are you doing with your dash?  Tell me, what is pulling you..?

Please share, I’d love to know!

Love,

Susan
